Sky offers £50 Tesco gift card with new online Sky TV sign ups

Sky are offering new customers who sign up online to Sky TV, a £50 Tesco gift card.

Previously Sky were offering a £25 Tesco gift card, but for the last few days of the offer they have upped this to a £50 Tesco gift card.

The offer is open to new customers signing up to Sky TV online by 30 April 2009 and having their Sky TV activated by 31 May 2009.

Sky Tv starts from only £16.50 a month for one entertainment pack, rising to £46 for all six entertainment packs and the premium channels Sky Sports and Sky Movies.

Sky boxes are currently free for the standard Sky Box, £99 for a Sky Plus Box and £49 for a Sky HD Box (plus £9.75 a month for the Sky HD pack). Sky Box prices are for your first Sky Box. Set up costs are currently £15 for a standard Sky Box set up, £30 for Sky Plus and free for Sky HD.

Could the Government spend £1 billion on rural superfast broadband?

A report in The Times today says that more than £1 billion could be spent by the Government to ensure superfast broadband for up to 12.5 million homes  in rural areas and small towns. This is because there are fears that the phone companies will not be able to afford to extend their networks themselves.

The suggestion came from Peter Mandelson at a Digital Britain conference, where he hinted that the Goverment might be prepared help out to ensure that up to 50Mb broadband reached as much of the country as possible.

However so far the Government has only committed to ensuring that everyone has access to broadband.

Three months free broadband with BT calls & broadband bundle or BT calls, broadband, TV bundle

BT are offering three months free broadband for switchers and returning calls customers, if they sign up to a BT Broadband & Phone bundle, or a BT Broadband, Phone and BT Vision bundle.

The free broadband is either BT Broadband Option 1, or BT Broadband Option 3. Both broadband packages have up to 8Mb download speeds. Option 1 also has a 10GB usage allowance a month, 250 wifi minutes a month, a BT HomeHub and basic security. Option 3 has an unlimited usage allowance (with fair usage policy), advanced security, unlimited wifi minutes (subject to fair use policy), HomeHub and HubPhone.

BT line rental costs £11.25 a month.

This is an online online offer and it expires on 12 May 2009.

Sky Ireland half price Sky Plus Box

Sky Ireland are offering their Sky Plus Box at half price – until 30 April 2009.

Under the terms of the offer, new customers can get a Sky Plus Box for half price, that’s only  €24.50 (usual price €49). Sky Plus allows users to record, rewind and pause live TV, remote record, and record whole series with Series Link.

Sky Ireland TV starts at only €16.50 a month for one entertainment pack.

New Sky Ireland customers signing up online will  get a €25 credit too.

Save up to £30 off your BT broadband bill

New customers signing up to BT broadband online can now save up to £30 off their first bill. If they sign up to BT Total Broadband Option 1 they will save £10 off their first bill – and if they sign up to Option 3 or BT Anywhere they will save £30 off their first bill.

All the BT broadband packages have up to 8Mb broadband and come with a BT Home Hub and free wifi minutes (the amount depends on the package). Monthly usage allowances vary from 10GB a month for Option 1 up to unlimited for Option 3 and BT Anywhere, subject to a fair use policy. Security is also included.

This BT Broadband offer is a limited time offer, for new customers signing up online to the included packages on an 18 month contract and ends on 28 April 2009.

Please note, there is no credit available with subscriptions to BT broadband Option 2.

Setanta Sports half price connection fee offer

Setanta Sports has halved the one-off connection fee for online sign ups. Previously the one-off fee was £14.99, it is now £7.50. This half price offer applies to Setanta Sports via satellite and Setanta Sports via Freeview.

It is a limited time offer.

Virgin Media have extended their £50 credit offer.

Just sign up to a Virgin Media triple bundle comprising three cable products (cable broadband, cable phone and cable TV) and get a £50 credit.

New customers signing up online to Sky TV can now get a £25 Tesco gift card, as long as they sign up by 30 April 2009 and have their Sky TV service activated by 31 May 2009.
