Mobile handset provider 3 and Skype launch 3 Skypephone
Skype, the global internet communications company and 3, the mobile operator, have launched the 3 Skypephone – a new affordable handset that lets users make free Skype to Skype calls and send free Skype instant messages from their mobile phones to other Skype users.
Free for contract customers spending at least £12 a month on normal calls, texts and internet access, the Skypephone will cost £49.99 for pre-pay users, who can use Skype as long as they spend at least £10 a month on traditional services.
About 2.5 million people across the UK regularly use Skype.
The 3 Skypephone is now available in 3Stores, and will be available from Skype and 3’s websites in time for Christmas.
